Our Community
I’ve been a K-8 educator in Massachusetts for over 5 years! When I’m not in the classroom you can find me somewhere outside, reading, or hanging out with friends & family. Over the past 9 years I’ve invited friends and colleagues to join me for interfaith dinners centered around celebrating the Jewish practice of Shabbat. As the leader of the Bread-Breakers, it is my goal to build an inclusive community focused on education, joy, and spiritual exploration.
I am an enthusiast for the things I love: food (chocolate & bread), music (currently: Rosalía), and stories (currently: Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow). I work at a nonprofit called Room to Grow on their Community Engagement team. You can usually find me in my favorite place - standing over a cutting board - during Bread Breakers events!
Hi! I’m Cayla 🙂 I am a former Special Educator and English as a Second Language teacher and currently work as an Engagement Specialist, helping to support the well-being and retention of nurses. Outside of work, I love to cook and bake for people, practice yoga, explore new places, and walk dogs!
Hi I’m Jackie! I’m a collaborative and creative community builder and am in the field of public health social work. I’m interested in exploring the intersection of faith and social identities as well as finding ways to create meaningful connections with people. I enjoy reading, spending time in nature, finding cool things to do in Boston, photography, and practicing yoga.
I’m a music teacher of almost a decade and professional musician in the Boston area! Lots of things are important to me: community, delicious food, being queer and trans, music (of many varieties), terrible puns, and being chill. Oh, and sunflowers. I like those too!
I’m an MTS student at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. I also work at Hebrew College in Newton at the Miller Center for Interreligious Learning and Leadership. I am discerning a career in law. In my freetime I love hanging out with animals, spending time outdoors, making pottery, writing, reading, working out and taking long walks. I am not a skilled chef but always happy to bring wine and wash dishes (and eat)!
MSW student at Boston College. From Tel Aviv, Israel.
I am a kindergarten teacher, poet, and sudoku enthusiastic. I’m always excited to talk to other folks at Bread-Breakers events about their worldview… or their favorite books. (To be fair, usually the two go hand in hand!)
